Always a Bandra Girl | Being Healthy and more…
“I will always be a Bandra Girl at heart.”
I may have moved to South Mumbai post my marriage but I believe that Bandra is always going to be a part of my soul. Fun, young and with a vibe that SOBO tries to make up for with heritage buildings and soul, Bandra is the definite choice for those who want a fun and happening lifestyle. While I don’t miss the noise and the rickshaws at all, I do miss having a lot of cafes to walk into and of course Carter Road and Joggers Park (where I would go for a run every evening).
I recently was at this really cute little cafe in Bandra (newly opened and all that…) and I fell in love with the concept, enough to want to share more about it with you. Run by a really sweet, young and health conscious fashion designer turned home baker turned restauranteur, Minali Gaba, Farmer’s Cafe is a definite on my MUST TRY in Mumbai list. You can read more here & here. Great for those looking for gluten free, lactose free or vegan eating options that are yummy too.
What we ate : The Aglio de Olio is YUMMM – Must try it and what I loved about it was that it wasn’t too oily, just right.
The Chocolate Almond Pudding : Mmmm… just thinking of it makes my mouth water ! Light, healthy and divine this is my new favourite dessert in town (move over yummy cookie from Sequel). Also should try the chocolate almond cake, though I loved the pudding more !
The High School Pizza – Yummy + Light + Gluten Free, this one is for the nights when you crave pizza sans the calories but with the flavours fully loaded !
Also worth trying (recommended by my friends) –
The Skinny Pasta
We also took home some yummy multigrain bread and I know they deliver across Bandra – Santacruz, so you lucky Burbies can order some delish food home to munch on (guilt free).
Where : Open daily, from 9am to 11pm. Farmers’ Cafe, Shop No.2, Rita Apartments, opposite Bombay Salad Co., 16th Road, Bandra (West). Tel: 75060 15930.
It’s a quaint little cafe so I suggest you make a reservation to avoid disappointment, especially over the weekends for breakfast or brunch ! Oh and they serve Coffee with Almond Milk (yay not just soy) – which is a big win for them because I always look for alternatives to Soy that are not that heavy or creamy…
Any other food & cafe recommendations for this Bandra Girl (at heart) ?
